President Joe Biden his first big event took place on Saturday 2024 re-election campaign with a union rally emphasizing support for the middle class through its economic agenda.
Biden announced an early endorsement from the AFL-CIO, a federation of 60 unions worldwide representing 12.5 million workers. “I am proud to be the most pro-Union president in American history,” he told a crowd in Philadelphia.
Biden talked about legislation passed during his first term, such as pandemic aidlast year’s sweep climate, health and tax package and recent bilateral debt ceiling agreement.
He also renewed his call for tax reform, which had been a challenge during his first term, including among some Democrats. He also called again ka minimum tax for billionaires.
“It’s time for the super rich to start paying their fair share,” Biden said, but he reiterated his commitment that no one making less than $400,000 would pay more in federal income taxes.
